The women of Delta Zeta are holding their 16th annual Run to the Chicken in College Station on Saturday, September 29, 2012. This 3K/5K fun run will begin at 9am on the back porch of Dixie Chicken (307 University Dr). This annual event raises money for Isaiah’s Place as well as the Delta Zeta Foundation.
Pre-registration for this College Station fundraiser will be accepted up until Friday, September 28th either online or on TAMU’s campus at Wehner and the Commons from 9am to 4pm beginning September 24th. It is $15 to register on campus and $16 to register online. With your registration, you will receive a commemorative T-shirt. You can also purchase tickets for the Winner Winner Chicken Dinner for just $5. The dinner takes place September 27th from 6-9pm. The menu will be, of course, chicken! Founded in 1996, Isaiah’s Place is an educational center catering to the needs of the deaf community, including friends and family. They provide retreats that house and teach deaf children and their families American Sign Language from an early age as well as provide them the education and resources needed to live a productive life. For more informatin on Isaiah’s Place, please visit their website.
For anyone who decides to attend the Run to the Chicken event in College Station at the last minute, you can register at the Dixie Chicken on the day of the event (September 29th). Don’t miss out on all the fun. All money raised from the Run to the Chicken will go to a very good cause.
