Free Starlight Music Series in College Station

We don’t do anything small-time here in Texas.  That includes our musical entertainment.  Beginning this Saturday, May 19, 2012, the free Starlight Music Series comes to College Station’s Wolf Pen Creek Amphitheater.  Presented by the City of College Station, the series is meant to be a rockin’ good time for the entire family with quality entertainment.

To kick off this year’s Starlight Music Series, music legends the Marshall Tucker Band will bring their brand of Southern rock to College Station.  Local favorite Texas Twisters will be their special guest performing classic rock.  On June 2nd, Eagles tribute band 7 Bridges will perform with their special guest, Bryan/College Station based rockers The Rock-A-Fellas, who will be performing their versions of classic hits from the 50s through the 90s.  For the final concert in the series, Asia Featuring John Payne will sing classic hits from British rock group Asia, the band John Payne fronted from 1992-2006 on June 16th.  Their special guest will be Texas’ very own Leannasaurus Rex.  Leannasaurus Rex has made a name for themselves with their combination of soulful country music and Texas blues.

Gates open at 6pm on the night of each concert.  The shows themselves will begin at 7pm.  You are welcome to bring your own refreshments in coolers, but the coolers can’t be any larger than 48 quarts and no glass or kegs are allowed.  All attendees are encouraged to bring blankets and/or chairs to sit in comfort while enjoying the evening’s entertainment.  However, there are specifically designated “blanket-only” areas, where chairs will not be allowed.  No smoking is allowed at the venue except in the three designated smoking areas.  Please leave your pets at home.

The free Starlight Music Series comes to College Station beginning this Saturday, May 19, 2012 at 7pm.  Bring the family down to Wolf Pen Creek Amphitheater for an evening of rocking good music.  A nice picnic in the park, under the stars with some great Texas musical accompaniment…College Station is definitely THE place to be!
