Bryan-College Station Halloween Alternatives

There is more to Halloween fun in Bryan-College Station than just knocking on doors. Here are some alternatives you might enjoy.Tomorrow is Halloween.  It’s the one time of year when we actually encourage kids to go up to strangers’ houses and beg for candy.  Of course, this IS done under a parent’s watchful eye.  But still.  If you’re looking for a different way to celebrate the holiday, you’re in luck.  Here are several Halloween alternatives in Bryan and College Station:

Children’s Storytime – The Larry J Ringer Library in College Station offers two storytime sessions every Wednesday: 10am for 2-3 year old kids and 11am for 4-5 year olds.  Mounce Library in Bryan also holds a family storytime session every Wednesday at 10:30am.  Look for some spooky yet kid-friendly storytelling tomorrow.

Country Fair – Grace Bible Church in College Station will be holding their annual Country Fair from 6pm to 8pm.  There will be games, hay rides, a petting zoo and lots more fun.  And it’s all absolutely free!  Costumes aren’t required, but are definitely encouraged.  For more info, please call (979) 693-2911.

Free Bowling at Grand Station – Every Wednesday night is Ladies’ Night at Grand Station (2400 Earl Rudder Fwy, College Station).  So, no matter what the ladies are dressed up as, they get to bowl for free.  But, on Halloween, whether you’re a real girl or just dressed as one, you can take advantage of free bowling from 9:30pm to 2am.  The games are free, but shoe rental is extra.  For more info, please call (979) 696-1100.

Light the Night Fall Festival – Aldersgate United Methodist Church in College Station will be holding its annual fall festival from 6pm to 8:30pm.  Everyone is welcome to show up in costume, even the parents.  There will be food, lots of games and even a silent auction.  Admission is free for everyone.  For more information, please call (979) 696-1376.

Salsa Halloween Dance – The Village in downtown Bryan is offering Salsa lessons from 8pm to 1am, just like it does every Wednesday.  Except, this week’s Salsa dance has a Halloween twist to it.  Admission and lessons are absolutely free to the public.  For more info, please call (979) 703-8514.

Trunk or Treat – Instead of taking the kids door to door for tasty Halloween treats, take the family to St. Luke’s United Methodist Church in Bryan.  Beginning at 6pm, the church (located at 2700 W. Villa Maria) has free games and candy for all the little ones.  Bring some candy yourself to pass out to the other costumed creatures as well.  For more info, please call (979) 822-9000.

While traditional trick-or-treating is fun, Bryan-College Station offers some Halloween alternatives However you choose to celebrate the night, make sure you keep yourself and your kids safe.  Happy Halloween, everyone!
